Welcome. My name is Thitu Muiruri. I am a Kenyan-American screenwriter and director dedicated to crafting community-focused films. I use my talents to shed light on issues affecting African communities, harnessing the power of visual storytelling to inspire change and raise awareness.

His Name Is Eku follows the final day of Eku and Kia’s internship at a TV station—an ending that marks more than just their careers. Beneath the surface of newsroom chaos simmers a volatile romance on the edge of collapse. Kia, tired of burying her emotions, finally confronts Eku about the cracks in their relationship.

But Eku, paralyzed by fear and secrets he can’t name, fumbles his response—unwittingly pushing her further away. Humiliated and heartbroken, Kia walks away. Left in the wreckage, Eku spirals into a storm of shame and emotional confusion.

As the layers of his past peel back, we discover the hidden trauma fueling his self-sabotage.

But the cost of silence may be greater than just lost love—his job, his future, and his identity hang in the balance. His Name Is Eku is a powerful story about healing.
